The year of the commemorations will be the academic year September 2005 to July 2006. This is based on the fact that the first Lasallian foundation in this country took place in September 2005 in the shape of a primary school in Clapham, which later became St Joseph's Beulah Hill. Ideas about ways to mark the anniversary and materials that could be produced.

Liturgical Services in various locations and formats.Celebration of the various strands of Lasallian association in GB: Schools, Lasallian Overseas Mission, Kintbury, Outreach (Peru, India, Nigeria) Lasallian Youth, Bristol Project L.A.C.E, Bartimaeus Project Liverpool ,Chaplaincy Former Students, Prisons;Pamphlets/booklets on Lasallian ethos for students and teachers;Magazine of extra-curricular Lasallian education;Historical summary of Lasallians in GB;Media coverage,- newspapers, radio and T. V (perhaps with the help of John Kirby);Websites;Video and PowerPoint presentations;Lasallian notice boards and global maps;Special celebration calendar (Brother Nicholas Hutchinson);Title and Logo. A Lasallian Family Schools' logo competition, based on:FSC (Eaith, Service & .Community), the Lasallian Star symbolising outreach, faith & wisdom, predominant colours of blue & gold;Special celebration posters (graphic design departments in schools);Special celebration banners (Brothers to sponsor a special banner and each school to produce one);
- Induction programme for new staff and students.
Liturgical Services and Prayers
- (a) Initial regional launches at the start of the academic year 2005/06 based on regional clusters of Lasallians: - London & Ipswich -The South -The Southwest -Wales -The Northwest (plus Scotland and Northeast). To be arranged by local Heads, Chaplains, R.E departments.(b) Main event in July 2006, in Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral. -Accommodation at Hope University for Lasallian orchestra and choir representing all schools -BBC to be contacted to televise service (John Kirby) -Invitations to Archbishop, Bishops, former students, clergy and Secretary of State for Education.
- (c) Special prayer and book of prayers for and by Lasallians (students, teachers, parents etc). Special celebration prayer to emphasize Lasallian themes of being in the presence of God and "Live Jesus in our hearts".
Proposals relating to the media and 'merchandise', with emphasis on the shared mission of the Lasallian Family.
- (a) Video and PowerPoint presentation. (Martin Brown, Alban O'Brien, Ben Foy, Nicholas Hutchinson, Anne Marie Harrison).(b) De La Salle 'storyboard' of his life and message, for pupils, parents and governors (P. Ryan).(c) Newspapers (using known contacts with such papers as Evening Standard, Times Educational, Catholic Herald and South Wales Echo etc.).(d) Radio (prayer and thought for the day -Radio Wales).(e) T. V -John Kirby at the BBC (Religious Affairs) especially for Liverpool Cathedral).(f) Merchandise: T-shirts, coffee mugs, pens, neckerchiefs, baseball caps, bust of De La Salle (could feature the distinctive signature of the Founder).(g) Printed prayer for the 150th Anniversary -emphasising themes of 'in the presence of God' and "Live Jesus in our hearts".
- (h) Sponsorship: -appeal to former pupils, parents, governors etc. Among business communities for sponsorship to subsidise transport and accommodation for Liverpool Cathedral Service and also merchandise.
