150 Lasallian Anniversary - North West

Opening Ceremony in Salford Cathedral

On Friday 23 September, 2005, Schools and Colleges from the North-West Lasallian Network celebrated a 150 Years of Lasallian Presence in GB. This service marked the beginning of a year long celebration that will end next July with a national celebration in Liverpool Cathedral.

Mr. Daunt, Headteacher of De La Salle School, St. Helens, welcomed the Lasallians and said the opening prayer.

The Choir of Cardinal Langley School, Middleton, sang "Founding Light" an new song about De La Salle, music by Sarah Day, words by Eileen Fry.

Pupils from St. Margaret Ward School, Stoke, performed an excerpt from "Born for This" by Rolinson, Boyce & Stanley.

The choir of De La Salle School, St. Helens, performed an excerpt from "Mary Magdalene" by Roger Jones.

The Lower School Orchestra from De La Salle School, Liverpool, played the traditional spiritual song "Swing Low, Sweet Chariot."

The Pendleton Chamber Choir from Pendleton College sang "The Pendleton Lord's Prayer", by N.G. Bennet, "O Lorde, The Maker of All Things" by J. Joubert and "My Spirit Sings All Day" by G. Finzi.
